Overnight, Russian missile and drone strikes have resulted in power cuts in extensive areas of Ukraine's capital, Kyiv.
A number of civilians were injured while local people in eastern neighborhoods were left without electricity and faced interruptions to water systems, according to city officials.
At the same time, a minor was fatally injured in a distinct Russian drone strike in the southeastern region in the country's south-east, according to local officials.
Moscow has intensified strikes on electrical systems over the last fortnight, while officials has requested "concrete actions" from international partners to increase pressure on Moscow.
"What is required is not window dressing but strong steps - from the US, European nations and the major economies - in supplying defensive weapons and implementing sanctions," was stated in a public message.
Authorities reported that 450 drones and more than 30 projectiles attacked Ukraine's energy infrastructure, labeling such assaults as "cynical and calculated" and against "everything that sustains normal life" as winter approaches.
The energy minister said Russia was "conducting extensive attacks" and maintenance teams were working to restore power.
A barrage of missiles hit energy infrastructure and civilian homes in the capital.
Five out of the nine people hurt in the assaults on the city have been hospitalized, according to local officials.
Local officials said the city endured significant strikes overnight. A minor died and several individuals were hurt.
The assaults succeed nights of bombing campaigns in the territory, parts of which remain under the control of Moscow's military.
The entire country is in a state of readiness for hypersonic Kinzhal missile strikes, which are more difficult to spot.
Government officials told journalists that Russia was purposely seeking to demolish the electrical infrastructure, with attacks already impacting energy systems.
